Forex Broker in Dubai: What Your Written Trading Quote Should Reveal

When comparing a forex broker in Dubai, ask for a written explanation of the costs and conditions for the trade you intend to place. Specify the instrument, position size, account currency and holding period. A useful quote distinguishes the live spread, commission and possible overnight charges, helping you compare providers using equivalent assumptions rather than headline prices.

Forex Broker in Dubai: What Your Written Trading Quote Should Reveal

“Spreads from zero” can attract attention. It does not tell you what a particular order will cost. A beginner trading a small EUR/USD position and a trader holding gold overnight are asking different pricing questions, even when they use the same platform.

Start with SmartFIN's broader guide to choosing a forex broker in Dubai, then use a specific trading example to make the cost discussion concrete.

Ask for the price of your trade

A practical enquiry might read: “Please explain the cost of opening and closing a 0.10-lot EUR/USD trade in a USD account, assuming a standard lot is 100,000 euros. Include commission and explain what changes if I hold it overnight.”

That question gives the provider something measurable to answer. Also ask when any indicative spread was observed and whether the figure is a minimum, average or current quote. A quote taken during a quiet session may not represent conditions around a major announcement.

Here is an illustrative comparison. Neither column represents SmartFIN or another named broker.

Assumed spread1.2 pips0.4 pips
Spread cost at approximately $1 per pip$1.20$0.40
Round-trip commission for the stated volume$0.00$0.90
Combined spread and commission$1.20$1.30

Under these assumptions, the smaller spread produces a slightly higher combined cost. This does not make either account universally better. Different volumes, live spreads, commissions and holding periods can change the comparison.

The calculation assumes no market movement, equal spreads at entry and exit, and excludes financing, conversion and execution differences. It is a worked example, not an executable quote.

Include what happens after the entry

A written comparison should explain whether commission is charged per side or for a complete opening and closing transaction. For overnight positions, ask about the applicable financing calculation and cut-off time. If your funding currency differs from the account currency, ask how conversion is priced.

Keep transaction costs separate from execution outcomes. Slippage can change the price at which an order fills; it is not necessarily a separately charged fee. Review SmartFIN's explanation of the real cost of forex trading in Dubai for the wider cost categories.

Costs also need to be understood alongside contract terms. The official MetaTrader 5 Market Watch documentation explains where instrument specifications can be inspected. Familiar software does not mean every connected provider offers identical conditions.

A clear quote still needs a clear provider

Confirm which legal entity offers the account and which documents govern it. A Dubai office address and a brand name do not, by themselves, establish the account's regulatory jurisdiction. Where a firm claims DFSA authorization, check its entry and permissions in the DFSA public register. Use the appropriate official register for other jurisdictions.

Is the lowest-spread forex broker in Dubai always the cheapest? No. Compare spread and commission for the same exposure, then add any relevant financing and conversion costs. A minimum advertised spread cannot answer that question alone.

If you are considering SmartFIN, review the account application information and request the current terms for the entity and account available to you. A written answer gives you a useful basis for comparison before committing funds.
